The Governments of Guatemala and the United States, with support from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), are launching the initial phase of the “Movilidad Segura” program to promote safe and orderly legal migration with access to protection mechanisms.
Starting June 12, 2023 at 10:00 (Guatemala time), Guatemalans and nationals of Central American Free Mobility Agreement (CA4) countries – El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua – will be able to access a free-of-charge digital form at https://movilidadsegura.org/guatemala/ to learn about different legal migration pathways to the United States and other countries.
Should an individual qualify for a legal pathway to migrate, they will be notified on how to continue with the corresponding process. It is important to note that completing a form on the website does not guarantee an approval.
With the launch of the initial phase of the “Movilidad Segura” program, the Governments of Guatemala and the United States, with the support of IOM and UNHCR, reaffirm their commitment to promoting safe, orderly, and regular migration and safeguarding people from scams and other dangers violating their rights.
