It’s now been over four weeks, and the city still hasn’t seen hide or tail of the federal liaison promised by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to help with the overwhelming migrant crisis.
We don’t even have a name.
It was an insult back when it was all Mayorkas offered Mayor Eric Adams on his DC visit last month to discuss the city’s needs on food, shelter and financial aid, plus his quiet calls for a “pause” in the flood at the border.
And the long delay in any followup only rubs salt in the wound.
Over 101,000 migrants have entered the five boroughs since early 2022, costing the city billions, yet Team Biden offers nothing but a lame promise that it can’t even be bothered to make good on.
It’s nice enough that Gov. Kathy Hochul has finally called on the prez to deliver some aid, but what of the state’s other top leaders?
Surely it’s long past time for Sen. Chuck Schumer to at least deliver his patented Sunday news conferences on the crisis?
