Police Arrest Man in Connection to Shively Hit-and-Run That Killed 26-year-old

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Shively police have arrested a man in connection to a fatal hit-and-run Sunday night.

Police were called to the area of Dixie Highway at Crums Lane around 8:50 p.m. Sunday night.

They found 26-year-old Dimitric Dryden-Danzy at the scene. He was transported to UofL Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Shively police arrested 37-year-old Joseph Martin on Tuesday in connection to the hit-and-run.

Police say after investigating the incident, they were able to determine that Martin was the driver who hit Dryden-Danzy and fled the scene.

Martin is being charged with vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid, and no operator’s license.

He’s being held at Louisville Metro Department of Corrections.

A GoFundMe has been started to help Dryden-Danzy’s family with funeral costs.
