Oklahoma Sheriff’s Department Launches a BTK Task Force

OSAGE COUNTY, Ok. (KAKE) – The Osage County Sheriff’s Department announced a special task force aimed at seeing if Wichita serial killer Dennis Rader is connected to a string of unsolved cases.

The group is made up of law enforcement agencies from Oklahoma, Kansas, and other various federal entities. It also includes Rader’s daughter, Kerri Rawson, who has said in the past that she believes she a key to help solve many of the cases, and Nancy Grace a well-known former prosecutor and media personality.

Osage County Sheriff Eddie Virden says he hopes their expertise will solve the 1976 cold case of missing Pawhuska, OK teenager Cynthia Kinney and other cold cases he think might be connected to Rader. The sheriff is set to hold a press conference at 2:00 p.m. today to provide an update on Kinney’s case. This is one day after the district attorney for his county says there’s not enough evidence that he’s seen to link Rader to Kinney’s disappearance.
