The dead body found on the University of Iowa campus last week has been identified.
Gabriel Molitor, a 44-year-old living in Iowa City, was confirmed Monday as the deceased person found on Sept. 6 along Riverside Drive on the edge of the University of Iowa’s campus. Officials say the person was neither a current student nor an employee.
University police were called at around 7:15 a.m. to the north patio of Stanley Hydraulic Laboratory at 320 S. Riverside Drive for a report of an unconscious or possibly deceased man, according to Campus Safety Chief of Staff Hayley Bruce.
No foul play is suspected, a preliminary investigation by local police and the Johnson County Medical Examiner determined.
The incident did not pose any threat to campus safety.
